in january, diversitybusiness.com, the nation’s leading multicultural business website, announced the 10th annual listing of the nation’s top entrepreneurs in the country. julsdesign inc. was ranked fifth for the "top 50 women-owned businesses in the state of iowa," sixth for the "top 50 diversity-owned businesses in the state of iowa," ninth for the "top 50 privately-held businesses in iowa," and 109th for the "top 500 emerging businesses in the u.s."

julie cruisin'

while the staff was cooped up in the office, julie and her family traveled down south to alabama for a spring break vacation. her family went searching for alligators and then went on a cruise out of mobile, alabama.

going green

metro waste authority is finally offering curb-side recycling for small businesses in ankeny. lindsay and the rest of the staff are very excited to participate.

wise old josh

josh recently took some time off to have his wisdom teeth removed. he was in pain and put out of commission for a couple days. poor little guy!

milton creamery

julie and matt had the honor of visiting milton creamery early in the year. the small family cheese factory, owned and operated by the musser family, is located in milton, iowa. they're a great, hard working mennonite family that make some fantastic products. we're working company branding, logo and brochure designs, and we're all very excited! they brought some cheese samples and we gobbled them all up! you have to pick up some "prairie breeze" cheese at the gateway market - excellent! we're so glad they've made us part of their team!

heather speaks

heather had the opportunity to speak about her experiences as a cancer survivor at the survivorship connection, in des moines at the beginning of march. the survivorship connection is a program of the heart connection children’s cancer programs and serves young adult survivors of pediatric and young adult cancers. the conference addresses a variety of survivorship issues including: employment, insurance, nutrition, fitness, fertility, intimacy, after-effects, emotional care, and available resources. we're all very proud of heather using her experience to inspire others.

matt's engaged!

our little matty is all grown up! he propped the question to his long-time girlfriend, angel - and she actually said yes! we're very happy for the young couple.
